Fr. Ramundo Rivera , Parochial Vicar
I was born in El Salvador, the youngest of six children. I came to United States in 1992. Since the age of seven, I sensed a vocation to the priesthood. As a child I would frequently attend Mass with my mother to receive the Eucharist, pray the Rosary and adoration with the Blessed Sacrament exposed. My mother noticed that I was drawn to the liturgy in a special way. She would ask me often if I wanted to be a priest and I said ‘yes’ many times, although for different reasons and difficulties I did not enter the seminary until much later in life. In May of 1981, I lost my family to the civil war in El Salvador. My sister and I were the only survivors due to the fact that we were both in different parts of the country untouched by the conflict that approached our family’s town. Yet God was persistent in his call. In 2005, I decided to enter the seminary while studying English. My hope as a priest is to shepherd the people of God and serve my diocese to the best of my ability.
